Lions Clubs International:
Stafford Lions Club is part of the Lions Clubs International which in 2017 had more than 1.4 million members worldwide having clubs in over 200 countries. This makes us the largest service organisation in the world.
Stafford Lions pride themselves on being part of Lions International whose mission is to support the efforts of Lion clubs in serving communities locally and globally.
Below is an example of the work of Lions Clubs International’s humanitarian work. Following the horrendous earthquakes in Turkey and Syria the picture shows a tented village immediately created to help survivors in Turkey.

Our slogan is “We serve” and through our international agency, Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), we actively support a number of initiatives:
Vision – We are a world leader in the effort to prevent avoidable blindness
Youth – We are committed to providing youth and young adults with opportunities to succeed..
Disaster Relief – When disaster strikes, we respond.
Humanitarian – Lions take action in their communities, working face-to-face with the people they serve.
Diabetes – We are providing support to help Lions educate the public and establish programmes.
Childhood Cancer – Lions establish programmes and provide access to care for those diagnosed
The Environment – Our goal is to help establish a sustainable future for generations to come.
Hunger – We help provide healthy meals for the hungry.
With 100% of donations going towards grants and programmes, LCIF empowers the compassionate service of Lions and those who need our help. Although those benefitting from your support may never know of your generosity, Lions Clubs International Foundation and our beneficiaries are grateful for your support.

Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world. LCIF was also ranked the number one nongovernmental organization in a 2007 study by The Financial Times.
Lions help during disasters. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies and aiding in long-term projects.
