Ongoing Projects

• Support for the vaccination centre in Stafford – over 4,700 hours volunteered
• Support of Ukrainian families escaping the Russian invasion
• Loan of mobility aids
• Recycling of used spectacles, hearing aids and blister packs
• Annual Carers Party
• Twice a year food collections
  
• Support for 2 local foodbanks 
• Christmas Food parcels for care leavers
• Gleaning pumkins and potatoes
• We recycle used spectacles and hearing aids
• We supply free Message in a Bottle bottles and plugster
• We take our turn cleaning the Lions Shelter at the National Memorial Arboretum.

Some individual cases where we have helped:

• Loaned a wheelchair to an elderly patient
• A grant for a 14 year old skier from Stafford so that she can compete for England
• Helped several individual care leavers as they set up home
• Donated children’s environmental books to 34 local primary schools
• Bought a bed for a young carer whose bed was destroyed in a fire at home.
• An elderly lady with mobility problems we supplied with a 3 wheeled walker
• Supported a Ukrainian family escaping the Russian invasion to move house
• A grant to a lady referred to us by Stafford Women’s Aid
• Loaned a wheelchair to an elderly patients
• A grant for 2 students to help them undertake charity work abroad

Some local events we have supported

• Worked as stewards at the St.Mary’s Christmas Tree Festival which raised money for the church and Mayor’s charities
• Taken part in the annual Mayor’s Parade
• Taken part in the annual Remembrance Day Parade

Sponsored kit Stafford Rugby Clubs Under 13s Team Social Services with young persons leaving foster care Various local Scout/Guides Groups South Staffordshire Young Carers Marie Curie Nurses – we collect each year as part of their Daffodil Appeal

International Projects we have supported:

Lions Clubs International react to disasters throughout the world.  LEBU, the special Lions Eye Bus in Uganda Project.
