We are again running a PSA Prostate Awareness Testing Event<\/span> in 2026. The event will be on the afternoon of 26th April, you will need to register.\u00a0 \u00a0Link to booking site<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

We have now started our Lions Child Sight UK\u00a0 <\/span>a vision screening<\/span> project for reception infant children. We have offered free <\/u>screening to every school in Stafford and surrounding villages. Already we have screened over 630 children from over 30 local schools.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In our recent\u00a0 fundraising Country and Western Night<\/span> starring Wayne Scott we raised over \u00a3850 for local causes.<\/span><\/p>\n

OTHER EVENTS:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u00a0 have helped at ‘Conquer Cannock Chase’, a fundraising event for the Roy Castle Cancer Charity.\u00a0 In spite of the rain we helped registering runners, directing runners around the course, giving out medals and t-shirts.<\/span><\/p>\n

We held another annual food collection at Baswich collecting valuable supplies for a Stafford Foodbank.<\/p>\n

We have started<\/span>\u00a0free vision screening<\/b> for reception aged pupils in local primary\/first schools because we have been loaned a \u00a36,000 child-friendly vision screening camera. We visited 38 schools and screened 823 reception-aged pupils and recommended that 67 of\u00a0 those chldren children visit an opticians for a full free eye examination. We offered free screening to all local primary\/first schools, surprisingly 5 schools did not take up our offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

We hold a very enjoyable party for carers attended by around 70 adult carers every September kindly hosted by Stafford Rangers Social Club.<\/span><\/h3>\n

We held a free PSA (prostrate\u00a0 cancer) Testing Session\u00a0<\/span><\/span>on Sunday 27th May 2025<\/strong>\u00a0kindly hosted by Stafford Rangers Social Club<\/strong>. On the day 258 men were tested.\u00a0 20 received ‘Red Letters’ suggesting that they should immediately consult their doctor and a further 23 received an ‘Orange Letter’ suggesting that there might be a problem.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our Response to Hunger:<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>Every month we donate \u00a3100 each to 2 foodbanks in Stafford.\u00a0 We also hold 2 food collections a year, one in Baswich (January) and one\u00a0 more in Wildwood (June or July)<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span>We also go ‘GLEANING’ for\u00a0 both pumpkins and potatoes.\u00a0 Gleaning is the harvesting of left over crops.\u00a0 Pumpkin crops we collect go to Marcus Rashford’s ‘Fareshare Charity’\u00a0 and potatoes go to local foodbanks.

We also support care leavers with Christmas Food Parcels.\u00a0 Young adults in care leave the system when they are 18 years old to fend for themselves.\u00a0 At\u00a0 Christmas our club provide 21 food bags to recent leavers from the care system.

Our Response to Childhood Cancer:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

We have recently worked with the Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance (CCPA) in Stafford and funded their\u00a0 new\u00a0 Arts Project providing art and craft opportunities for families.\u00a0 \u00a0We also gave them money towards Christmas gifts for cancer sufferers and their siblings.<\/p>\n
